Richard Thomas Lucey
June 24, 1942 – December 17, 2023

Richard Thomas Lucey, 81, of Cairo, GA, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at his residence.

Mr. Lucey was born on June 24, 1942, in Bayside, NY, to the late Thomas Jeremiah Lucey and Myrtle Jeannette Riley Lucey.  On May 24, 1968, he married Janet Adalene Otts, who survives.

Following his service in the US Air Force from 1959 until 1965, he worked at Warners as an Industrial Engineer.  Richard always had a love for entrepreneurship. After leaving Warners, he started his own tool distributorship known as R.T. Tools and later started Cairo Lock and Key.

Survivors include:  his wife, Janet Adalene Lucey; his children, Alabama Lucey, Missy Roberts (Jeromy) and Mathew Lucey, all of Cairo, GA; his grandchildren, Rebecca Curtin (Jack) of Hoover, AL, Anna Roberts (Jacob O’Brien) of Senoia, GA, Megan Roberts of Cairo, GA and Katie Roberts of Cairo, GA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
