Sara Ethel Fain

Memorial services for Sara Ethel Fain, 90, of Whigham, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 10, 2024, at El Bethel Baptist Church, Whigham, GA. Dr. Bob Knight will officiate. Mrs. Fain passed away at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, Tallahassee, FL, on Sunday, February 4, 2024.
Mrs. Fain was born on July 19, 1933, in Whigham, GA, to the late Jackson Harold Johnson and Mamie Louise Bryant Johnson.
She married Kenneth Elwood Fain, who became a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, and they traveled the United States, with Guam being their last station together. After her husband’s death, Sara and her children moved back to Grady County, where she continued her education and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked many years in nursing until retiring due to her health. She loved her family with everything in her, and she will be deeply missed.
Survivors include: her children, Leon Fain of Unadilla, GA, Reese Fain, Gary Fain (Gee), Sherry Pearce, all of Cairo, GA, Brent Fain (JoNell) of Donalsonville, GA; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Kenneth Elwood Fain, MSGT, USAF Ret.; her parents; son, Barry Ennis Fain; granddaughters, Ashley Nicole Toliver and Amanda Carol Fain; sisters, Faye Jordan and Betty Green.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to nurses Kim Bowles and Lauren Reagan from Georgia Hospice Care for the outstanding support and care provided during this time.
