James Madison Haslett

Memorial services for James Madison Haslett, 84, Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 17, 2015, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Cairo, GA. Brother Ron Bosely, Brother Andy Gayle and Brother Walt Darley will officiate. Mr. Haslett passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Sunday, October 11, 2015.
Mr. Haslett was born on October 5, 1931, in Guitonville, PA, to the late Merle Haslett and Bertha West Haslett. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was married to Roberta Ruth Haslett, who preceded him in death on March 21, 2011. He retired as a mold maker for the Glass Container Corporation. His hobbies were drinking coffee, country music, and old cars mainly “Fords.” He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons; and Scott and Mike, who were like his sons. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Survivors include: daughters, Rebecca Best (Scott) of Cairo, GA, Shelly Fisher (Mike) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Dawson Best, Mason Best, Gavin Fisher, Gage Fisher, all of Cairo, GA; brother, George Haslett (Mary Ann) of Pittsburgh, PA; sister, Leila Lynville (Lee Eric) of Youngsville, PA; and a host of extended family.
He was preceded in death by: parents; wife; brothers; Cliff Haslett, Merle Haslett; and sister, Elnora Haslett.
