Bertha McCormick Ulmer

Graveside services for Bertha McCormick Ulmer, 86, of Attapulgus, GA, are at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 26, 2024, in Woodlawn Cemetery, Whigham, GA.  Rev. Danny Burns will officiate.  Mrs. Ulmer passed away at Memorial Manor in Bainbridge, GA, on Friday, February 23, 2024.

Mrs. Ulmer was born on December 1, 1937, in Walton County, FL, to the late John Wesley Jackson McCormick and Effie Mae Rayburn McCormick.  She retired as a seamstress.  On August 28, 1954, she married Carol Lee Ulmer, who preceded her in death on February 11, 2007.  She was a member of Attapulgus Baptist Church.

Survivors include: her children, Susan Fowler of Brevard, NC, Carolyn Gibbs (Cecil) of Whigham, GA, Terry Ulmer (Sissy) of Whigham, GA; grandchildren, Trey Gibbs (Lauren) of Cairo, GA, Cassie Ulmer Latmore (Grant) of Whigham, GA, Katie Ulmer of Whigham, GA; great-grandson, Walt Gibbs, soon to be great-grandson, Greyson Wheeler Latmore; sisters, Wynelle Stafford of Sampson, AL, Willene Scoggins (Buck) of Geneva, AL, Betty Brownell of Westville, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband and nine brothers and sisters.

Memorials may be made in Mrs. Ulmer’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
