Richard Dewey Thompson

Richard “Ricky” Dewey Thompson, 67, of Cairo, GA, passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital, Thomasville, GA on Thursday, April 4, 2024.  The family will have a private memorial service at a later time.

Mr. Thompson was born on October 20, 1956, in Cairo, GA, to Dewey Arnold Thompson and the late Minnie Wade Mash.  He was an electrical contractor and worked in construction.

Survivors include: his daughter, Shelsea Gancerez (Justin Wilson) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Hennasea Nicole Hall, Bryce Wilson, Hailyn Gancerez, Amelia Wilson and Haven “Chicky” Wilson, all of Cairo, GA; father, Dewey Arnold Thompson of Cairo, GA; sister, Donnis Brinson (Wendell) of Lake Seminole, GA; brother, Danny Thompson (Linda) of Thomasville, GA; nieces, Lisa Denson (Kurt) of LaVernia, TX, Cindy Burgess (Jeff) of Cairo, GA and Christy Covington (Russ) of Ochlocknee, GA; as well as other extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie Wade Mash.
