Willie Royce Prince
November 28, 1929 – July 26, 2024

Funeral services for Willie Royce Prince, 94, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 29, 2024, at Pine Level Baptist Church, Cairo, GA.  Elder Jon Mizell will officiate.  Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Community Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Mr. Prince passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Friday, July 26, 2024.

Active pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Mr. Prince was born on November 28, 1929, in Cairo, GA, to the late Thomas Benjamin Prince and Lillie Mae Oakes Prince.  On April 7, 1951, he married Mary Frances Barrett Prince, who preceded him in death on January 12, 2012.  He was the owner and operator of Royce’s Paint and Body Shop for more than 30 years.  He was a member, deacon and Bible study leader of Pine Level Baptist Church.  Royce also served as a deacon previously with Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Cairo. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include: children, Lamar Prince (Betty) of Cairo, GA, Gail Godwin (Bobby) of Whigham, GA, Robin Prince (Susan) of Cairo, GA,  Sheila Szczekot (Jerome) of Graceville, FL, Sonya Arline (Todd) of Ellijay, GA, Bridget Knight (Johnny) of Whigham, GA;  grandchildren, John Godwin of Whigham, GA, Summer Hall (Todd) of Moultrie, GA, Casey McQuaig (Butch) of Waycross, GA, Cameron Prince (Sarah) of Dothan, AL, Jarin Prince (Kabeary) of Tallahassee, FL, Cody Szczekot of Graceville, FL, Lee Szczekot (Macie) of Calaway, FL, Logan Arline (Mikayla) of Ellijay, GA, Gage Arline (Savannah) of Ft. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers, Wilburn A. Prince and Joseph “Joe” Franklin Prince, Ray Prince; sisters, Lorene Spruiell, Monteen Fowler, Agnes Barrett, Lynette Simpson.

The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service.
