Annie Laura Willis passed away at her home in Watkinsville, GA, on Saturday, August 3, 2024.
Mrs. Willis was born on May 25, 1932, in Cairo, GA, to the late Fondren Lewis and Vera Grey Lewis. On February 14, 1953, she married Gyles YuVawn Willis, who preceded her in death on December 29, 1990. She was a bookkeeper at F&W Farm Service and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her children, Vicki Willis Nicholson of Watkinsville GA, Glynn Willis (Bebe) of White Springs, FL, Laurie Willis Anderson (Ken) of Madison, GA, Melanie Willis Britt (Stacey) of Watkinsville, GA; grandchildren, Clay Brewer of Hiawassee, GA, Chris Brewer (Jennifer) of Athens, GA, Gyles Willis of Alpharetta GA, Ashley Anderson Esslinger (Josh) of Madison, Ga, Amy Anderson Hibbard (Mark) of Madison, GA, Abraham Britt (Riley) of Madison, Ga., Fallin Britt Frix (Trent) of Calhoun, GA; great-grandchildren, Ryan Brewer (Madison) of Hiawassee, GA, Jared Brewer of Hiawassee, GA, Bennett Esslinger, Mason Esslinger, Brayden Hibbard and Knox Hibbard, Graylynn Britt and Houston Britt, all of Madison, GA, Frankie Frix, Foster Frix and Harry Frix, all of Calhoun, GA; great-great-grandchildren, Novalee Brewer and Trip Brewer, both of Hiawasee, GA; step-grandchildren, Brooke and Ross Hammock (Jackson and Scarlett), Rachel and Josh Holton (Cameron and Lane), Christie and Tanner Barrett (Gage, Beau, Tripp) Matt and Joley Nicholson, and Mindi and Benjamin Harris; sister-in-law, Betty Ann Willis of Thomasville, GA; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, G.Y. Willis of Cairo, GA; daughter, Mitzi Willis; great-grandson, Derek Brewer; siblings, Jewel Willis, Martha Walden, Herbie Lewis, Jimmy Lewis and Ray Ennis.
Memorials may be made in Mrs. Willis’ memory to the Cairo First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 1538, Cairo, GA 39828.
No services are planned at this time. Mrs. Willis will be laid to rest next to her husband and daughter at Big Ochlocknee Baptist Church Cemetery, Coolidge, GA.
