James Columbus “J. C.” Miller

Funeral services for James Columbus “J. C.” Miller, 87, of Pelham, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. David Pickering and Rev. Herman Hampton will officiate. Interment will be in Pinecrest Memory Gardens, Pelham, GA. Mr. Miller passed away at Southern Pine Senior Living in Thomasville, GA, on Saturday, October 24, 2015.

Active pallbearers will be Joey Brinkley, Edward Harden, Lee Miller, Michael Miller, Ben Giddens and Chris Calvert.

Mr. Miller was born on April 3, 1928, in Cairo, GA, to the late Robert Lee Miller and Annie Mae Harrell Miller. He served his country in the U. S. Navy. On October 8, 1949, he married Ouida Bryant Miller, who preceded him in death on June 22, 2007. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: daughter, Shirley Rehberg (Tom) of Thomasville, GA; son, Dennis Miller (Shelia) of Vada, GA, Scott Miller (Kim) of Pelham, GA; grandchildren, Lisa Calvert of Tallahassee, FL, Trena Giddens of Tallahassee, FL, Lynn Nixon of Moultrie, GA, Lee Miller of Vada, GA, Michael Miller of El Paso, TX; great-grandchildren, Kayla Foster, Sarah Giddens, Tray Holton, Jacob Holton, Anna Grace Calvert, Tyson Miller; great-great-granddaughter, Charlie Kate Foster; and a brother, John Henry Miller of Lake Park, GA.

He was preceded in death by: parents; wife; grandson, Chris Miller; and a brother, Jesse Miller.

Memorials may be made in Mr. Miller’s memory to: the Pelham Senior Citizens Center or the Alzheimer’s Association.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
