Funeral services for Larry Rodney Hunter, 81, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 7, 2024, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel, Cairo, GA. Pastor Johnny H. Moore will officiate. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Tallahassee National Cemetery, Tallahassee, FL. Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Air Force and the Big Bend Honor Guard. Mr. Hunter passed away at Legacy Village, Thomasville, GA, on Monday, September 30, 2024.
Mr. Hunter was born on March 8, 1943, in Cairo, GA, to the late Ell Alvin Hunter and Lela Mae Howzer Hunter. In 1989, he married Mary Ann Kingsbury Hunter, who survives. He was a retired mechanic and electrician.
He served in the United States Air Force in Vietnam, retiring with the rank of Technical Sergeant, retiring after 20 years of faithful service.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Kingsbury Hunter of Thomasville, GA; son, Michael Hunter of Washington, DC; stepdaughters, Lisa Stuhler (David) of Bay City, TX, Patricia Pilkington (Jeff) of Bend, OR and Debra Allen of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Kelsey Maki, Austin Stuhler, Chase Pilkington and Gage Pilkington; great-grandchildren, Liam Maki and Bryson Maki; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons; Larry Rodney Hunter, Jr and Joel Hunter; and a brother, David Hunter.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Monday, October 7, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
