Christopher “Chris” William McGahee
January 23, 1981 – October 6, 2024
Christopher “Chris” William McGahee, 43, of Atlanta, GA, passed away in Atlanta, GA, on Sunday, October 6, 2024. The family will have a private memorial service at a later time. Rev. Becky Willis will officiate and interment will be in Cairo Cemetery.
Christopher was born January 23, 1981, in Cairo to Gary Dillon McGahee and Susanna “Susie” Warner McGahee. He was a graduate of Cairo High School class of 1999. After his college education, he worked in Human Resources. His first job in Human Resources was in Tallahassee. He later transferred to Key West where he resided for several years. After a life altering moped accident in Key West 7 years ago, he moved to Atlanta.
Survivors include his parents, Gary and Susie McGahee of Cairo, GA; sister, Corry McGahee Edmondson (Ray) of Tallahassee, FL; nephew, Trevor Pearson of Tampa, FL; nephew Steven McKown (Autumn) and great nephew Bentley Jack McKown, stationed in Hungerford, United Kingdom.
Christopher was preceded in death by: his maternal grandparents, William and Suzanne Warner, Jr; paternal grandparents, Harold and Margaret Wight McGahee; maternal great- grandparents; Harold and Marion Linquist; and paternal great-grandparents; Walter and Augusta Wight.
