Memorial services for LuCretia Chason Whigham, 82, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Rev. Steve Wooten will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Whigham passed away at the John B. Elizabeth V. Wight Inpatient Hospice Center at Archbold Memorial Hospital, Thomasville, GA, on Friday, October 25, 2024.

Mrs. Whigham was born on July 21, 1942, in Cairo, GA, to the late Daniel Weyman Chason and the late Edna Earle Wimberley Chason.

She was a 1960 graduate of Cairo High School and later worked for many years as a salesclerk at Lorenzo’s Dress Shop.

Survivors include her son, Shannon Whigham (Michelle) of Thomasville, GA; daughter, Lesli Jeter (Patrick) of Belton, KY; grandchildren, Dillon Jacob Whigham of Hawaii and Daria Rebekah Bair (Michael) of Denver, CO ; great-grandchildren, sisters, Judy Richards (Jim) of Lenore, ID, Sara Elkins (Jeff) of Trinity, FL and Elaine Harrison (Forest) of Cairo, GA; former spouse and father of her children, James LeVerne Whigham of Cairo, GA; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
