Edward “Ed” Joel Franklin Mallory

Memorial services for Edward “Ed” Joel Franklin Mallory, 78, of Whigham, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2024, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cairo, GA. Elder Charles Butler will officiate. Mr. Mallory passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital, Thomasville, GA, on Monday, November 18, 2024.

Mr. Mallory was born on December 2, 1945, in Ozark, AL, to the late Emory Joel Mallory and the late Joyce Mae Greene Mallory. He served his country in the Army Nation Guard. In 1973, he married Janis May Mallory, who survives. They were married for over 51 years. He worked for the Florida State University School of Engineering until his retirement. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include: his wife, Janis R. Mallory of Whigham, GA; daughter, Rebecca Lee Ray (Mark) of Athens, AL; sons, Troy Benjamin Mallory and Michael David Mallory, both of Whigham, GA; grandchildren, Sean E.L. McDowell of Tennessee, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Ray of Athens, AL and Thomas Joe Mallory; as well as a host of other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; a son, Christopher Joel Mallory; and a brother, Thomas Joseph Mallory.
