Funeral services for Anderson Jesse “A. J.” Davis, 95, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Elder Jon Mizell will officiate. Services will conclude at the Chapel. Interment will be in Tired Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Whigham, GA. Mr. Davis passed away at Rose City Health and Rehab in Thomasville, GA, on Sunday, April 15, 2018.

Mr. Davis was born on October 22, 1922, in Cairo, GA, to the late John W. Davis and Rosa Rehberg Davis. He served his country during WWII in the United States Army. In February of 1983, he married Alice Leitha Bishop Davis, who preceded him in death on December 15, 2015. He was a retired farmer and he attended Tired Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Whigham.

Survivors include a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by: his parents, his wife; sisters, Oreva Davis Brock, Myrtice Davis, Mae Davis, Lotchie Davis Booth, Susie Davis Bryant, Beryl Davis Kancle; and a brother, Charles Edgar Davis.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home immediately following the funeral service.
