Angela Copeland Knight

Funeral services for Angela Copeland Knight, 67, of Whigham, GA, are at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Union Springs Baptist Church, Whigham, GA. Rev. Johnny Burdick and Rev. Stacy Glover will officiate. Interment will be in Union Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Whigham, GA. Mrs. Knight passed away at her home in Whigham, GA, on Friday morning, July 1, 2016.

Active pallbearers will be Charles Harrell, Joe Knight, Robbie Knight, L. E. Knight, Charles Shockley, John Copeland, David Copeland, Ray Morrison, Roger Ponder, David Coley, Stacy Glover, Jet Cox, Jimmy Cox, James Knight, Billy Lee, and Bruce Maxwell.

Mrs. Knight was born on September 9, 1948, in Thomasville, GA, to the late Obern Copeland and Willie Dean Ponder Copeland. On August 18, 1972, she married Bobby Joe Knight, who survives. She graduated from Thomas County Central High School and continued her education at Valdosta State University where she received an Education Specialist degree. She taught at Warner Robins, Thomasville, Whigham, and was at Northside Elementary School in Cairo until her retirement. She was a member of the Retired Educators Association. Angela was an active member of Union Springs Baptist Church, where she served as the pianist.

Survivors include: her husband, Bobby Joe Knight of Whigham, GA; daughters, Lorie Knight Barrow (Mike) of Whigham, GA, Donna Knight of Whigham, GA; son, Joey Knight of Whigham, GA; granddaughter, Mallorie Elaine Barrow of Whigham, GA; brother, Randall Copeland (Mary) of Allentown, PA; and nephews and niece, John Copeland, David Copeland, Reagan Copeland, all of Allentown, PA.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
