Private funeral services for Bernice Sellars Cook, 91, of Cairo, GA, will be held in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Rev. Steve Wooten will officiate. Mrs. Cook passed away at her home on Friday, December 23, 2022.
Mrs. Cook was born on July 19, 1931, in Cairo, GA, to the late Jimmie E. Sellars and Maggie Strickland Sellars. On July 22, 1950, she married Royal Cook, who preceded her in death on January 21, 2013. Until her retirement, she was employed as a secretary with the W. B. Roddenbery, Inc. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Cairo.
Survivors include: daughters, Gail Adams of Thomasville, GA, Lynn Bearden (Kim) of Tallahassee, FL, Anne Brown (Terry) of Crawfordville, FL, Carol Prince (David) of Douglasville, GA; Son, James Cook of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Shawn Harrison (Erika) of Cairo, GA, Justin Bearden (Emilee) of Tallahassee, FL, Kevin Bearden (Emily) of Tallahassee, FL, Kristin Ciaccio of Tampa, FL, Nicholas Ciaccio of Springfield, VA; great-grandchildren, Judson Harrison, Jake Bearden, Luke Bearden, Kate Bearden, Maddie Bearden; brother, Ronald Sellars (Jonnie) of Cairo, GA; sister, Jeanette S. Turner of Cairo, GA; and a special friend, Benny Mobley of Whigham, GA.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Royal Cook; and a sister, Bonnie Flanery.
