Betty Jean Taylor

Funeral services for Betty Jean Taylor, 83, of Cairo, GA will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 17, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Cairo, GA. President Charlie Butler will preside. Grave dedication will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Taylor passed away peacefully in Grady General Hospital in Cairo, GA on Friday, May 14, 2021.
Betty was born on June 5, 1937 in Vidalia, GA to the late Willie Caraway and Vianna Tant Caraway. On August 15, 1981 she married Harry L. Taylor, who survives. Betty was a loving and nurturing mother and wife. She received her education in the nursing field and worked as an RN before her retirement. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Survivors include her: husband, Harry L. Taylor of Cairo, GA; her children, Deborah Reck (Jeffery) of Payson UT, Danny Jackson of Rincon, GA, Steve Jackson of Savannah, GA, Sandra Martinez (Frank) of Johnstown, CO, Renee Parkman (Ken) of Mooresville, NC, and Tonya Cannon (James) of Tupelo MS; Twenty-nine grandchildren with numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Connie Jones (Darrell) of Vidalia, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her: parents; daughter, Julie Hall; sisters, Mazie Willis, Genelda Waters; and brothers, Woodrow, Hershel, Curtis and Malcolm Caraway.
