Betty Sue Simpson
November 23, 1946 – January 20, 2016

Funeral services for Betty Sue Simpson, 69, of Hampton, TN, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at the Rose City Church of God, Thomasville, GA. Rev. Gerald Horne will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Ms. Simpson passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at her residence in Hampton, TN.

Active pallbearers will be: Doug Simpson, Doug Herrington, Brandon Herrington, Jimmy Brown, Wayne Hadden and Chris Schuettler.

A native of Pelham, GA, she was a daughter of the late Joe Brown Simpson, Sr. and Christine Davis Simpson. She lived in Carter County, TN for the past 16 years. She was a licensed beautician. She was of the Pentecostal Faith.

Survivors include: her love and care giver, Jessie Bailey; daughter, Angelia Neal of Albany, GA; three sons, Troy Simmons and wife Alma, Roy Simmons and wife Julie, Robbie Simmons and wife Melissa, all of Cairo, GA; one sister, Opal Corbin of Cairo, GA; one brother, Joe Simpson, Jr, of Cairo, GA; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and four very special people, Stuart, Bobbie and Logan Ingram and Sam Bailey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: a great-grandson, Luke Rusk; a brother, Douglas “Mac” Simpson; and a sister, Clara Brown.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA, on Monday, January 25, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
