Bobbie Jo Hatcher

Private graveside funeral services for Bobbie Jo Hatcher, 85, of Cookeville, TN, formerly of Cairo, GA, are on Thursday, October 1, 2020, in Union Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Jeff Ezell will officiate. Mrs. Hatcher passed away at Signature HealthCARE of Putnam County in Cookeville, TN on Saturday, September 26, 2020.
Mrs. Hatcher was born on November 3, 1934, in Mitchell County, GA, to the late Jutson Lee Johnson and Inez Golden Johnson. On October 13, 1951, she married Thomas Lee Hatcher, who preceded her in death on September 18, 2013. They were married for almost 62 years. Bobbie was a long-time member of Long Branch Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. Her favorite devotion was in the church nursery because she loved children and being able to minister to them. Bobbie can be remembered as the lady that walked the street of Cairo everyday for her exercise. She loved to walk and was faithful until her memory started to fade.
Survivors include: children, Judy Blackmon (Stanley) of Cookeville, TN, Gary Hatcher (Deborah) of Cairo, GA, Virgil Hatcher of Cairo, GA, Wesley Hatcher (Diana) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Casey Blackmon (Stacey) of Cookeville, TN, Derek Hatcher, Kyle Hatcher, both of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Brody Blackmon, Easton Blackmon, both of Cookeville, TN, Dalton Hatcher, Olivia Hatcher, both of Thomasville, GA, Ty Hatcher, Jada Hatcher, Jax Hatcher, all of Cairo, GA; brothers, Willie Johnson (Imojean) of Albany, GA, Boyd Johnson (Eloise) of Attapulgus, GA; sister, Joyce Coonrod (George) of Kingsland, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by: parents; husband; daughter, Annette Alred; daughter-in-law, Anglia Jane Hatcher; brothers, Paul Ed Johnson, Franklin Johnson; and a sister, Katie Fowler.
