Bobby E. Andrews

Funeral services for Bobby E. Andrews, 78, of Albany, GA, are at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at Midway Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Wayne McDonald will officiate. Interment will be in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery, Cairo, GA, with military honors. Mr. Andrews passed away at his home in Albany, GA, on Saturday morning, November 12, 2016.
Active pallbearers will be J.L. Rosencrantz, Mac Rosencrantz, Ray Rosencrantz, Mike Chastain, Jimmy Brown and Tim Schafer.
Mr. Andrews was born on August 2, 1938, in Cairo, GA, to the late Coy E. Andrews and Lillian West Andrews. He served his country in the U. S. Army Reserves. On June 12, 1965, he married Mary Ann Wallace Andrews, who preceded him in death on June 9, 2009. They were married for 41 years. Bobby was a family man and an entrepreneur. He owned A&G Trucking, and later Quality Paper Company, both of Albany, GA. He retired at the age of 70 to take care of his failing wife battling terminal cancer. Bobby was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and remained a loyal and active supporter of Cairo Syrupmaker football. He was a member of the CHS Class of 1956. He was a member of Gillionville Baptist Church, Albany, GA.
Survivors include: daughter, Sherri Wheeler (David) of Leesburg, GA; granddaughters, Corrie Wheeler of Leesburg, GA, Lacie Wheeler of Leesburg, GA; great-grandson, Jensen Andrew Lee of Leesburg, GA; and a host of cousins and extended family.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; and his grandson, Joshua Andrew Wheeler.
