Funeral services for Braxton Monroe Mash, 75, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 30, 2015, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Ed Green will officiate. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Mash passed away at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, GA, on Tuesday, October 27, 2015.
Active pallbearers will be Rick Kennedy, Jim Kennedy, Mark Nelms, Darrell Welch, Ron Sellers and Russell Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Mash and Jamie Mash.
Mr. Mash was born on July 24, 1940, in Cairo, GA, to the late Arthur M. Mash, Sr. and Pearl Ivey Johnson Mash. He was a carpenter and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: daughters, Mary Braden (Keith) of Adairsville, GA, Connie Sellars of Moultrie, GA, Debra Mathis (Eddie) of Cairo, GA, Sherry Ring (Bryant) of Thomasville, GA, Paula Mash of Thomasville, GA; son, James E. “Bubba” Mash of Whigham, GA; grandchildren, Crystal Bunch of Dalton, GA, Wendy Hurst (Perry) of Cairo, GA, Torrie Mash of Moultrie, GA, Trey Mathis of Forestdale, AL, Heather Mathis of Cairo, GA, Brandi Davis (Josh) of Meigs, GA, Brittany Ring of Thomasville, GA, Alex Welch of Cairo, GA, Christopher Ring of Thomasville, GA, Matthew Welch of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Ethan Bunch, Evan Bunch, Lilly Bunch, all of Dalton, GA, Jade Johnson, Evan Johnson, both of Moultrie, GA; Braxton Davis, Camden Davis, both of Meigs, GA, Chole Hurst of Cairo, GA; sister, Rosalyn Senn of Cairo, GA; and mother of his children, Virginia Mash of Cairo, GA.
He was preceded in death by: parents; daughter, Sandra K. Mash; sister, Ruby P. Mash; and brothers, Arthur M. Mash, Jr., Johnnie Mash, James A. Mash, William L. Mash, Henry S. Mash, Talmadge E. Mash.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Thursday, October 29, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
