Funeral services for Carol Atkinson Horton, 89, of Cairo, GA, are at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 21, 2019, at Pine Level Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Steve Wooten will officiate. Interment will be in Pine Level Baptist Church Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Horton passed away at Legacy Village at Plantation Manor in Thomasville, GA, on Thursday, July 18, 2019.

Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Mrs. Horton was born on September 1, 1929, in Cairo, GA, to the late Jim Atkinson and Bessie Pauline Peacock Atkinson. On September 15, 1949, she married Leavy Horton, who preceded her in death on April 6, 2006. She retired from the W. B. Roddenbery Company and was a homemaker.

Survivors include: daughters, Martha Womble of Newton, GA; Sharon Wooten (Steve) of Thomasville, GA, Judy Fusco of Thomasville, GA; son, Robert Horton (Judy) of Meigs, GA; grandchildren, Heather Sellers (Raymond), Gretchen Cantley (A. J.), Tara Thomas (Chris), Kyle Fusco (Ashley), Nick Fusco (Susie), Allen Wooten, Jenni Brock (Chris), Chad Wooten (Kristie), Jennifer White, Ellis White (Kerri); great-grandchildren, Dylan Sellers, Dalton Sellers, Drew Cantley, Toby Sellers, Austin Sellers, Langley Wooten, Mary Beth Wooten, Noah Wooten, Tuck Wooten, Logan Brock, Phoenix Brock, Caleb Bertsch, Sophie White, Sydney White, Marley Gay, Synclair White, London White, Amelia Baade; and beloved cat, Buttercup.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; son-in-law, Sam Fusco; and a host of brothers and sisters.

The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to Kindred Home Health Staff, Kindred Hospice Staff and Legacy Village Plantation Manor Staff.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Horton’s memory to a charity of your choice.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, July 20, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
