Catherine Hazel Houston
March 7, 1927 – November 17, 2022

Funeral services for Catherine Hazel Houston, 95, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 21, 2022, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Tammy Fincannon will officiate.  Services will conclude at the chapel.   Private interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Mrs. Houston passed away at her home on Thursday, November 17, 2022.

Mrs. Houston was born on March 7, 1927, in Thomasville, GA, to the late Alfred Akridge and Edna Brinson Akridge.  On May 7, 1943, she married Elzie F. Houston, who preceded her in death on July 4, 2006.  For over 40 years, she was the office manager for Oil-Dri Corporation of Georgia in Ochlocknee, GA.   She was a devoted member of Woodland Methodist Church in Cairo.

Survivors include:  children, Ronnie Houston (Jackie) of Cairo, GA, Ray Houston (Iris) of Hazlehurst, GA; grandchildren, Hal Houston (Connie) of Albany, GA, Lynne Googe (Ray) of Hazlehurst, GA, Eric Houston (Amanda) of Cairo, GA, Renee Pyles of Whigham, GA; great-grandchildren, Logan Houston, Alex Googe, Dylan Houston (Michaela), Jacob Pyles, Madeline Pyles; great-greatgrandchild, Harley Hazel Houston; sister-in-law, Marcell Akridge; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by parents, her husband and her brothers and a sister.
