Graveside funeral services for Charles Edward Watson, 78, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2022, in Bold Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery, Ochlocknee, GA. Rev. Robby Phelps will officiate. Military Honors will be presented. Mr. Watson passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Friday, November 4, 2022.
Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Lashley, David Lashley, Todd Watson, Justin Watson, Sam Yarley, Richie Slaughter, John Schafer, Michael Smith, Tyler Doughty and Chase Hornsby.
Mr. Watson was born on August 6, 1944, in Cairo, GA, to the late Benny Martin Watson, Sr. and Ruby Inez Hudson Watson. He served his country in the Vietnam Conflict in the United States Army. On November 6, 1965, he married Mary Jane Colvin Watson, who survives. He was a carpenter and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: his wife, Mary Jane Watson of Cairo, GA; children, Keith Watson (Linzy) of Cairo, GA, Shani Watson of Cairo, GA; daughter-in-law, Dawn Watson of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Prestine Watson, Edward Watson, Robert Watson, all of Cairo, GA; sister, Barbara Smith (Jimmy) of Cairo, GA; his furry son, Benjie; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his son, Eddy Derek Watson; and a brother, Benny Watson, Jr.
