Cooper B. Henderson, Jr.

Graveside funeral services for Cooper B. Henderson, Jr., 73, of Ochlocknee, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2025, in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Pelham, GA. Rev. Jimmy Ausburn will officiate. Mr. Henderson passed away at First Commerce Center for Compassionate Care in Tallahassee, FL, on Friday, April 4, 2025.

Mr. Henderson was born on December 18, 1951, in Atlanta, GA, to the late Cooper Barry Henderson, Sr. and Amy Louise Bishop Henderson. On April 17, 1971, he married Joy Goodson Henderson, who preceded him in death on May 29, 1997. He was the store manager at Turner’s Furniture in Bainbridge for many years. He retired as the site manager at the Hansell facility for the Thomas County Solid Waste.

Survivors include: his children, Jennifer Rodriguez of Oviedo, FL, Melissa Hawthorne (Richie) of Whigham, GA; grandchildren, Jazmyne Rodriguez Crawford (Nathaniel) of Oviedo, FL, Alexa Rodriguez of Oviedo, FL, Raymond Hester of Dallas, GA, Kale Hester of Whigham, GA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mark and Patti Goodson of Valdosta, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Diana Henderson of Stone Mountain, GA, Carol and Andy McHargue of Kettering, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Amy and Cooper Barry Henderson, Sr.; his wife, Joy Henderson; sister and brother-in-law, Anita and Don Foltz; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marie and Emmett Goodson.

The family will receive friends at graveside immediately following the funeral service.
