Cullen Maxwell
October 4, 1937 – August 24, 2022

Graveside funeral services for Cullen Maxwell, 84, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 26, 2022, in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Jim Weaver will officiate.  Mr. Maxwell passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.

Mr. Maxwell was born on October 4, 1937, in Cairo, GA, to the late Josh Maxwell and Emmie Holland Maxwell.  On January 12, 1965, he married Carolyn Loyd Maxwell who preceded him in death on December 16, 2012.  Cullen worked for Sunnyland Meat Packing Company in Thomasville for over 30 years.  Later he worked for Walmart and Grady County until his retirement.

Survivors include: his son, Seth E. Maxwell; brothers, Gary Maxwell, Gerald Maxwell, both of Cairo, GA, Larry Maxwell of Thomasville, GA; sisters, Mary Dale Miller of Boston, GA, Diane Godwin of Cairo, GA; his caretaker, Catherine Addison; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; his son, Gregg Maxwell; brothers, Durrell, Edward, Buck, Donald, Ronnie and Robert Lane Maxwell; sisters, Faye Goolsby, Mavis Harrison, Jean Roberts, Lorene Bennett; sister-in-law, Janice Daughtry; and a brother-in-law, Marvin Worrell.

The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service at graveside.
