Funeral services for Curtis Eugene Smith, 81, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at the Cairo Church of God, Cairo, GA. Pastor Gerald Horne and Pastor DeWayne Atkinson will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Smith passed away at Rose City Health and Rehabilitation Center in Thomasville, GA, on Saturday morning, January 28, 2017.
Active pallbearers will be Allen Barrett, Chad Allen, Will Bundrick, Nestor Candelaria, Jackie Fleetwood and Donny Smith.
Mr. Smith was born on October 24, 1935, in Thomasville, GA, to the late Slayton Jackson Smith, Sr. and Eva Simmons Smith. On January 6, 1955, he married Betty Jean Butler Smith, who preceded him in death on January 3, 2011. He retired from retail building material sales with Shadrick Lumber and Building Supply, Inc. in Thomasville, GA. He was a member of the Cairo Church of God.
Survivors include: son, Randy Smith (Kathy) of Ochlocknee, GA; daughter, Cindy Barrett (Benny) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Jamie Allen (Chad), Krista Candelaria (Nestor), Joni Bundrick (Will), Allen Barrett (Candace), all of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Tyson Allen, Kenzlea Candelaria, Liam Bundrick, Kaylee Barrett, Levi Bundrick, Eli Candelaria all of Cairo, GA; brother, Donald Smith (Carla) of Thomasville, GA; and a loyal sister and loving care-giver, Stella Fulgham of Cairo, GA.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; great-grandchild, Max Candelaria; brothers, Slayton J. Smith, Jr, Toby Smith; and a sister-in-law, Betty Ann Smith.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Monday, January 30, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
