Danny L. Walden
March 5, 1952 – September 11, 2021

Graveside funeral services for Danny L. Walden, 69, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 14, 2021, in the Hawthorne Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Kerry Dinkins will officiate.  Mr. Walden passed away at his mother’s home on Saturday, September 11, 2021.

Mr. Walden was born on March 5, 1952, in Cairo, GA, to the late Johnny Franklin Walden and Evelyn Miller Walden, who survives.  He was a graduate of Cairo High School Class of 1970, where he received the nickname “DW.”  He continued his education at the University of Georgia where he received his bachelor’s degree and later at Barry University in Miami where he received his master’s degree.  Danny was self-employed as a licensed clinical social worker.  On July 7, 1984, he married Bethany Trovillion Walden, who survives.  He was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include: his wife, Bethany Walden of Port Charlotte, FL; his mother, Evelyn Walden of Cairo, GA; sisters, Frankie W. Griner (Danny) of Cairo, GA; Anita W. Chason (Wallace) of Whigham, GA; nieces, Allison G. Singletary (Lee), Donna G. Portillo (Manny), Laura C. Brown (Dusty); nephews, Clay Chason (Jennifer), Brad M. Chason (Kristin); and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family.  He was preceded in death by his father.

Memorials may be made in Mr. Walden’s memory to: Kindred Hospice, 432 E. Shotwell St., Bainbridge, GA; or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

The family will receive friends at graveside immediately following the service.
