David Singletary
January 27, 1942 – April 29, 2024

David Singletary, 82, of Whigham, GA, passed away at Archbold Living – Cairo, Cairo, GA, on Monday, April 29, 2024.  The family will have a private memorial service at a later time.

Mr. Singletary was born on January 27, 1942, in Whigham, GA, to the late Charles Singletary and the late Doris Loretta Gwaltney Singletary.  On November 29, 1963, he married Doris Allen, who survived.  They were married for almost 61 years.  He was a night supervisor clerk with Ira Higdon Grocery for many years.

Survivors include: his wife, Doris Allen Singletary of Whigham, GA; daughters, Deborah Hudson (John) of Cairo, GA and Deneen Haire (Greg) of Thomasville, GA; grandchildren, Thomas Hudson (Amanda) of Washington, DC, Robert Hudson (Cassie) of Cairo, GA, Jessica Hudson of Thomasville, GA and David Hudson (Grace) of Norfolk, VA; great-grandchildren, Chasten Harrison, Ella Harrison, J.T. Hudson, Elizabeth Hudson, Victoria Hudson, Truett Hudson, Hank Hudson and Austin Kate Hudson; brother, Lavaughn Singletary (Lena) of Grovetown, GA; sister-in-law, Mary Emma Singletary of Grovetown, GA; as well as a host of nieces nephews, other extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles Singletary, Jr. and Edward Singletary, Sr. (Inez); and sister, Barbara Jean “Bobbie Jean” Johnson (Hugh).
