Funeral services for David Theo Johnson, 70, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at Faith Baptist Church, 2600 GA HWY 122, Thomasville, GA. Pastor. Danny Alford will officiate. Services will conclude at the church. Private interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Johnson passed away at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, GA, on Sunday evening, August 14, 2016.

Active pallbearers will be Danny Shealey, Billy Willis, Lenward Folsom, Darrell Johnson, Mike Gainous and Joey Prince.

Mr. Johnson was born on August 1, 1946, in Cairo, GA, to the late Theophilus “Shorty” Johnson and Irma Lindsay Johnson. On November 1, 1968, he married Jane Elizabeth Shealey Johnson, who survives. He retired as an insurance agent and later started Johnson Tree Service. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Thomasville, GA.

Survivors include: his wife of 47 years, Jane Shealey Johnson of Cairo, GA; sons, David Johnson of Cairo, GA, Chad Johnson (Sharon) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Derick Johnson of Cairo, GA, Conor Johnson of Cairo, GA, Jaylin Johnson of Hahira, GA, Andrew Johnson of Cairo, GA, Katie Elkins of Cairo, GA; mother-in-law, Virginia Shealey of Thomasville, GA; brothers, Ronald Johnson of Cairo, GA, Wayne Johnson of Cairo, GA; sisters, Sharon Butler (Kenneth) of Cairo, GA, Marilyn Willis (Billy) of Cairo, GA, Carolyn Hollingsworth of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; and a sister, Charlotte Barrineau.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
