Denzil Jack Parsons, Sr.
May 28, 1927 – February 3, 2025

Denzil Jack Parsons, Sr., 97, of Whigham, GA, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 3, 2025. He was a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Denzil was born May 28, 1927, to the late John Seldon and Edith Fanny Parsons. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Isabelle Ione Ferrell Parsons and his son, Denzil Jack Parsons, II. Also, sisters, Maxine Bell, Louise Parsons, Bonnie Adams, Donna Buie and Joanne Burwell; and brothers, Donald Parsons, James Parsons, Charles Parsons, and Lonnie Parsons preceded him in death.

He served his country with distinction during WWII in the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer Third Class.

Denzil is survived by his sister, Fern Swisher of West Virginia. He is also survived by his children, Vangeline Tribble, Rebecca Ann Parsons, John Parsons and James Parsons (Lisa). He was blessed with eight grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

A service celebrating Denzil’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA, with Pastor Steve Poppell officiating. Private interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Whigham.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Clark Funeral Home.
