Dewey Gene Johnson
August 19, 1932 – May 24, 2021

Dewey Gene Johnson, 88, of Inglis, FL entered into the arms of the Lord on May 24, 2021. Dewey was born on August 19, 1932, to his parents, Julious Johnson and Laura Mae Meadows, in Ochlocknee, GA. After turning 18, he served in the US Navy from January 1951 to November 1954.

He was very proud to have served and was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and Paralyzed Veterans of America. Before Dewey retired, he was employed by the Monticello News for 30 years. He loved photography, and developing the photos was one of his greatest joys. Dewey will be missed by his family and friends.

Dewey is survived by his daughter, Francine Salter (Jerry); granddaughter, Rachael Salter Renfro (Bradlee); brother, Reese Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Johnson; and sisters in-law, Lynn Johnson and Dorothy Johnson.

A graveside memorial service is to be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., in the Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery, Ochlocknee, GA.  Rev. Steve Wooten will officiate.
