Funeral services for Dorothy Florence Ehrhardt Crawford, 98, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 9, 2019, at Midway Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Pastor Johnny Burdick and Pastor Travis Harrison will officiate. Services will conclude at the church. Private interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Crawford went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 5, 2019.
Active pallbearers will be Quinnon Crawford, Ronald Crawford, Elton Crawford, Joey Brock, Tim Kines and Sam Kines.
Mrs. Crawford was born on January 13, 1921, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late John Henry Ehrhardt and Lenetta Christensen Ehrhardt. When Dorothy was 2 years old, they moved to Mineola Long Island, NY. On January 17, 1942, she married Virgil Woodrow Crawford, who preceded her in death on January 22, 1995. They were married for 53 years. Virgil was the son of Robert Cazzie Crawford and Mamie Lee Mercer Crawford. She was a homemaker. Affectionally known as “Miss Dot”, she dedicated herself to the service of others by leading numerous different children and youth groups in her church. Groups she led included SunShine Club, Cub Scouts, Brownies, Girl Scouts, GA’s, Acteens and Training Union. Through her leadership in these groups, she helped to lay the foundation of love and faith of Jesus Christ to numerous children throughout the community. She was dedicated in service to Midway Baptist Church. She also enjoyed volunteering at Grady General Hospital for many years.
Survivors include: children, Bonnie Lee Crawford, John Robert Crawford (Patti), Debbie Kines (Rick), all of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Chris Kines (Melissa), Amanda Phillips (Isaiah Taulbee), both of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Preslei Phillips, Annalise Phillips, Caden Kines, all of Cairo, GA; bonus grandchildren, Robert Colbert of Crestview, FL, Heather Wisham of Cairo, GA, and bonus great-grandchildren, Cadence Marchant, Spencer Marchant, Rebecca Wisham, Carter Taulbee, Rowan Taulbee, Graham Taulbee, all of Cairo, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
The family extends special recognition to her “Angels” as she would call them, her caregivers: Lilly Knight, Dorothy Jones, Denise Slade, Pam Coon, Angelia McGriff, Patricia Addison, Lorraine Johnson and Ricky Smith. The family would like to extend a special thank you to these ladies and Ricky for not only the great care they gave their momma, but also the love they gave to her.

The family will receive friends at Midway Baptist Church immediately following the funeral service.
