Dorothy Perry Barrett
April 14, 1933 – August 9, 2024

Funeral services for Dorothy Perry Barrett, 91, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 12, 2024, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Wayne Cook and Rev. Dellise Cox will officiate.  Interment will be in Tired Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  Mrs. Barrett passed away at Camellia Gardens of Life Care, Thomasville, GA, on Friday, August 9, 2024.

Active pallbearers will be Walter Maxwell, Yancy Maxwell, Joel Rackley and Bobby Williams.

Mrs. Barrett was born on April 14, 1933, in Grady County, GA, to the late John Perry and the late Eunice Holton Perry.  She was married to Jessie Clyde Barrett, who preceded her in death on June 19, 1980.  Dorothy loved to be outdoors.  Her other hobbies were quilting, word search puzzles and her greatest joy was caring for her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Shirley B. Banks of Cairo, GA; grandson, Timothy Ryan Bradley of Harvest, AL; sister, Susie P. Moretti (Bruno) of Cooper City, FL; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband; sons, Dennis Lamar Barrett, David Dewayne Barrett, Robert Edward Barrett, parents; sister, Jeanette Perry Gandy; brother, Rogers Perry; and sons-in-law, Timothy Bradley and Michael Banks.

The family extended their love and gratitude to Dorothy’s caregivers, Ruth Cox and Mary Murray.  And special thanks from the family to the staff of Camellia Gardens for their care, attention and many acts of kindness extended to Dorothy also.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
