Dr. Rev. Larry E. Johnson
August 18, 1946 – April 3, 2025

Funeral services for Dr. Rev. Larry E. Johnson, 78, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 7, 2025, at Full Gospel Chapel, Cairo, GA. Rev. Marian Johnson will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Panama City, FL. Dr. Rev. Johnson passed away at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, FL, on Thursday, April 3, 2025.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dabney Crosby, Dewayne Sorrow, Nealie McCormick, Timmy Sorrow, Cory Sheffield, Jimmy Mashburn, Vousis Paden, Terry Lambert, Stacy Williamson, his grandsons (Scotty, Justin, Nate, Logan and Trey) and the members of The Lower Muskogee Creek Tribe Honor Guard.
Dr. Rev. Johnson was born on August 18, 1946, in Panama City, FL, to the late Amos Johnson and Lolie Deal Johnson. He graduated from Rutherford High School in 1964 and Troy University in 1968. He received his Master’s from Troy in 1971. His Doctorate of Theology was from Oval Bible College. He was a long-time educator serving as counselor, teacher, principal and superintendent. Later in life, he became a devoted pastor. At the time of his passing, Dr. Rev. Johnson was the pastor of Tama Community Church where he has served for over 25 years.
On Feb. 27, 1993, he married Marian Phillips Johnson. They have been married for over 32 years.
Dr. Rev. Johnson was very proud of his heritage as a Muskogee Creek Indian and served as Prophet of the Square. He was also a very proud Mason.
Survivors include: his wife, Rev. Marian Johnson; sons, Scott Howard Johnson (Denese), and Jason Johnson, daughter, Carrie Johnson Glover (Mack), grandchildren, Scotty Johnson (Shay), Justin Johnson, Taylor Johnson, Mackenzie Glover, “Gator” Jonathan Hall; great-grandchildren, Kali Johnson, Trey Johnson, Nate Molique, Bella Molique, Waylan Grueneberg, Imogene Grueneberg; and one living brother, Gerald; sister-in-law, Charlotte Kirkland; brother-in-law, Chuck Phillips; and nieces and nephews, Greg and Kim Johnson, Chris Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Mark Johnson, Dewayne and Tiffany Sorrow, Lauren Sorrow, Logan Sorrow, Aubree Sorrow, Alyssa Wiggins, Ashley Sorrow, Amber and Victor Gonzales, Paisley Gonzales, Leann Moye, Kinsley Sellers, Mattie Grace Moye and a host of adopted family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Amos and Lolie Johnson; and a brother, Wayne Johnson.

The family will receive friends at Full Gospel Chapel, 826 First Street SE, Cairo, GA, on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
