Earnest Joe “Sonny” Eubanks, Sr.
July 20, 1935 – May 6, 2019

Earnest Joe “Sonny” Eubanks, Sr., 83, of Whigham, GA, passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Monday, May 6, 2019. Private interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Whigham, GA. The family will receive friends at Whigham United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Thursday, May 9, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. with a brief Celebration of Life following.

Mr. Eubanks was born on July 20, 1935, in Tallahassee, FL, to the late Joe Eubanks and Margaret Hines Eubanks. He served his country in the United States Army. He was a retired lawyer. He was a member of the Whigham United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: wife, Erika Prater Eubanks of Whigham, GA; sons, Jim Eubanks (Roxanne) of Greenville, IN, Joe Eubanks of Fairbanks, AL; daughter, Margie Eubanks of Whigham, GA; step-daughters, Patricia Dunlap (Daryl) of Cairo, GA, Annette Heath of Louisville, KY; step-son, Rudy Prater of Whigham, GA; grandchildren, Alan Cash (Nickie) of Cairo, GA Amanda Tatum (Josh) of Bainbridge, GA, Chelsea Dunlap of Cairo, GA, Travis Burden of Middle River, MD, Patrick Eubanks of Louisville, KY, Brandon Eubanks of Louisville, KY, Zoe Prater of Whigham, GA, Devin Prater of Whigham, GA, Julia Prater Thomas of Louisville, KY, Jimmy Heath, Jr. of IN, Kristine Heath of Texas, Edward Mitchell of Louisville, KY; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter, Karen Eubanks; and a granddaughter, Taylor Eubanks.
