Graveside funeral services for Eddy Derek Watson, 46, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 8, 2021, in the Bold Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Rev. Johnny Burdick will officiate. Mr. Watson passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Saturday, June 5, 2021.
Active pallbearers will be Richy Slaughter, John Schafer, Todd Watson, David Lashley, Sam Yarley, Donald Youngman, Keith Watson, Michael Smith, Keith Lashley and Justin Watson.
Mr. Watson was born on April 18, 1975, in Cairo, GA, to Charles Edward Watson and Mary Jane Colvin Watson. On June 28, 2003, he married Dawn Youngman Watson, who survives. He was a carpenter and roofer with Southern Roofing in Camilla. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Eddy was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He greeted everyone he met with a smile and was always willing to help anyone in need.
Survivors include: his wife, Dawn Watson of Cairo, GA; sons, Prestine Watson, Edward Watson, Robert Watson, all of Cairo, GA; parents, Edward and Mary Jane Watson of Cairo, GA; brother, Keith Watson (Linzy) of Cairo, GA; sister, Shani Watson of Cairo, GA; and a host of extended family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Benny and Ruby Watson and Mary Colvin.
