Elmer L. Baggett
August 23, 1940 – March 4, 2024

Funeral services for Elmer L. Baggett, 83, of Crawfordville, FL, are at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2024, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Ron McCaskill will officiate.  Services will conclude at the chapel.  Private interment will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Climax, GA.  Mr. Baggett passed away at Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee, FL, on Monday, March 4, 2024.

Active pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Mr. Baggett was born on August 23, 1940, in Reno, GA, to the late Cohen Baggett and the late Ruth Elizabeth Barrett Baggett.  He served in the National Guard and was a nursery superintendent.

Survivors include: his children, Patrick Baggett (Shanna) of Calvary, GA, James Lamar Baggett of Tallahassee, FL, Elmer Baggett (Peggy) of Jacksonville, FL, Georgia Cosper (Jamie) of Monticello, FL; 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jane Stewert (Medford) of Cairo, GA, Catherine Mills of Tallahassee, FL, Belle Jennings of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by:  his parents; sisters, Betty Taylor, Virginia Collins, Shirley Ann Moore; and a brother, Tom Baggett.

Memorials may be made in Mr. Baggett’s memory to: Antioch Baptist Church, 2030 Antioch Church Road, Climax, GA  39834.

The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service.
