Funeral services for Mary Ernestine Tomberlin, 73, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 8, 2015, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Robert Crapps will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Tomberlin passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Sunday, October 4, 2015.
Active pallbearers will be Nathaniel Smith, John Smith, James Tomberlin, III, Jonathan Simcox, Kevin Fulp, Donald Johnson, Brandon Gabenski and Brian Tomberlin.
Mrs. Tomberlin was born on September 27, 1942, in Kirkland, GA, to the late Harry Wells and Bertha Douglas Wells. On December 24, 1960, she married James E. Tomberlin, who survives. For many years she worked as the Fellowship Hall Hostess at the Cairo First Baptist Church where she was a church member.
Survivors include: husband, James E. Tomberlin of Cairo, GA; daughters; Constance Fulp (Kevin) of Green Cove Springs, FL, Lynn Johnson (Donald) of Cairo, GA; son, Eddie Tomberlin of Cairo, GA; grandchildren; Chris Wilkerson of Gaffney, SC, Jonathan Simcox of Green Cove Springs, FL, Kala Bennett (Matt) of Adel, GA, Trey Tomberlin (Quinn) of Thomasville, GA, Cetoria Tomberlin of Rome, GA, Kylie Harris of Cairo, GA, Emily Johnson of Cairo, GA, great-grandchildren, Brian Page, Troy Wilkerson, Alexis Wilkerson, Caleb Wilkerson, Emmie Lou Bennett, Miller Bennett, Ethan Fulp; sisters, Rebecca Lenge of Brunswick, GA, Wanda May (Johnny) of Pelham, GA, Linda Garner (Doyle) of Pearson, GA; brother, Fred Wells of Pearson, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by: parents; brothers, Thomas Wells, Lavonne Wells; and a sister, Shirley Garner.
