Euel Weston “Pete” Whitley
April 20, 1949 – June 19, 2017

Funeral services for Euel Weston “Pete” Whitley, 68, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at Family Worship Center, Cairo, GA. Pastor Johnny Moore and Rev. Rickey Whitley will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Whitley passed away at his home in Grady County, GA, on Monday morning, June 19, 2017.

Active pallbearers will be Dean Whitley, Tim Whitley, Paul Tate, Josh Ferrell, Anthony Whitley and Jimmy Fletcher.

Mr. Whitley was born on April 20, 1949, in Ocilla, GA, to the late James Euel Whitley and Ruby Veral Brown Whitley. He served his country in the United States Army. On June 13, 1970, he married Vera Catherine Agnew Whitley, who survives. He retired as a supervisor with the Torrington Company. He was a member of Family Worship Center in Cairo.

Survivors include: his wife of 47 years, Vera Catherine Whitley of Cairo, GA; sons, Rickey W. Whitley (Kim) of Cairo, GA, Rodney Whitley of Cairo, GA; daughter, Dana W. Barfield (Kenneth) of Whigham, GA; grandchildren, Malorie Whitley, Samuel Whitley, Ren Whitley, Anna Grace Whitley, all of Cairo, GA; brother, Carl Whitley (Betty) of Nashville, GA; sisters, Bobbie Neal Fletcher of Thomasville, GA, Jean Carter (Hugh) of Jacksonville, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; granddaughter, Abbie Lynn Whitley; brother, Tommy Dean Whitley; and sisters, Carol Wilson, Shirley Ferrell.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
