Private graveside funeral services for Floyd Collins, 90, of Columbus, GA, will be on, Friday, August 14, 2020, in the Magnolia Baptist Church Cemetery, Whigham, GA. Brother Ron Evans will officiate. Mr. Collins passed away at his daughter’s home in Ball Ground, GA, on Sunday, August 9, 2020.
Mr. Collins was born on March 28, 1930, in Whigham, GA, to the late Charles Clayton Collins and Effie Thomas Collins. He served his country in the United States Army from 1947 to 1973. On June 12, 1957, he married Zimmie Geneva Collins, who preceded him in death on June 23, 2014. They were married for 57 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: daughters, Wanda Collins Harshbarger (Donald) of Ball Ground, GA, Gloria Collins Lewis (Robert) of Warner Robins, GA; grandchildren, Brian Saladino (Nikki) of McDonough, GA, Colin Harshbarger (Elise) of Cumming, GA, Clayton Harshbarger of Atlanta, GA, Amber Lewis of McDonough, GA, Kaleigh Collins Hawthorne (Joe) of Elizabeth City, NC, Miranda Harshbarger Wishinsky (Jacob) of Fairhope, AL; great-grandchildren, Hudson Saladino, Maddox Saladino, both of McDonough, GA; brothers, Lynwood Collins (Mary) of Whigham, GA, Rodney Collins (Barbara) of Thomasville, GA; sister, Jean Strickland of Whigham, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife; son, Charles Collins; and sisters, Christine Henderson, Ina Cutchen, Madeline Strickland, Melba O’hara.
