Funeral services for Frank Andrew Foss, 46, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 22, 2017, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Pastor Gwyn Hayes and Pastor David Avery will officiate. Interment with Military Honors will be in Sunset Cemetery, Meigs, GA. Mr. Foss passed away at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA, on Monday, July 17, 2017.
Active pallbearers will be Lee “Button” Thomas, Jr., Alvin “Bitt” Shirah, Jamie Bynum, Larry Horn, Thomas Smith and Franklin Copeland.
Mr. Foss was born on May 20, 1971, in St. Petersburg, FL, to the late Frank E. Foss and Janice Copeland Laurence, who survives. He graduated from St. Petersburg High School in 1989. He served his country in the United States Army from 1992 to 2001. On August 18, 2007, he married Michelle Smith Foss, who survives. Frank has lived in Lafayette, GA, Moultrie, GA, and currently in Cairo. He was employed by the Thomas County Tax Assessors Office in the mapping department. He was a former member of the Cornith Baptist Church in Lafayette, GA. He was a devoted Georgia Bulldog Fan.
Survivors include: his wife, Michelle Smith Foss of Cairo, GA; son, Hunter Avery of Cairo, GA; mother, Janice Copeland Laurence of Cairo, GA; sister, Angela Kelley of Moultrie, GA; step-grandmother, Opal Holloway of Canton, GA; uncle, Franklin Copeland of Canton, GA; aunt, Glena Magee (Otis) of Rawson, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family member. He was preceded in death by his father.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Friday, July 21, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
