Funeral services for Fredrick W. Bearden (Freddy), 84, of Cairo, GA, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Cairo First Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Chris Allen will officiate. Private interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Bearden passed away at his home in Cairo, GA, on Wednesday, September 22, 2021.
Active pallbearers will be Steve Brock, Eric Brock, Whit Anderson, Art Anderson, Clayton Bloodworth and Daniel Snider.
Mr. Bearden was born on June 16, 1937, in Shelbyville, TN, to the late Crawford Berry Bearden and Mary Trolinger Bearden. He was a proud member of the Cairo High School Band and Class of 1956. Upon graduation, he attended Carson Newman College and then served his country in the United States Navy. On March 3,1960, he married Celia Linda Shiver Bearden, who survives. Mr. Fred as he is affectionally known, also worked with the Astro Space Company as an Electronic Technician in Huntsville Alabama for many years before he moved back to his beloved hometown of Cairo. He retired as a Sales Manager with Stallings Motors. He was a member of Cairo Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon. Mr. Fred had many interests over the years including woodworking, fishing, Bluegrass music and in his retirement years working in his garden. On Saturday his family will be celebrating his life as well as the birthday of his beloved wife of over 60 years.
Survivors include: his wife, Linda Bearden of Cairo, GA; daughters, Sharon Brock (Steve) of Vada, GA, Nicole Anderson (Art) of Thomasville, GA; son, Steve Bearden (Tammy) of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Jessica Bloodworth (Clayton) of Pineview, GA, Eric Brock ( Ariel) of Vada, GA, Sophie Anderson of Thomasville, GA, Whit Anderson of Thomasville, GA; great-grandchildren, Vada Bloodworth and Beau Bloodworth of Pineview, Emmerich Brock, BriarRose Brock, Ezra Brock of Vada, GA, and a new great grandson arriving very soon. Brother Johnny Bearden (Twila) of Cairo, GA; sister, Mary Ann Henderson of Dalton, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church an hour prior to the service.
