Funeral services for Gail Laverne Merritt Lee, 75, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Teddy Williamson will officiate. Interment will be in the Hawthorne Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Lee passed away at her home on Monday, April 28, 2025.

Active pallbearers will be Keith Griffin, Darrell Griffen, Kory High, Kaleb High, Garrett Blanchard and Austin Blanchard.

Mrs. Lee was born on March 21, 1950, in Whigham, GA, to the late Roy Albert Merritt and Willie Mae Wimberly Merritt. On September 17, 1997, she married James Roger Lee. They have been married over 27 years. She retired as a cutter with Warners in Thomasville.

Survivors include: her husband, James Roger Lee of Cairo, GA; her daughter, Penny High of Cairo, GA; her son, Randy Blanchard of Cairo, GA; stepson, Tommy Allen Lee (Jackie) of Griffin, GA; step-daughter, Amy Lee of Whigham, GA; grandchildren, Ashley Hart (Dustin) of Barwick, GA, Skyler High of Cairo, GA, Kaleb High of Moultrie, GA, Kory High of Whigham, GA, Garrett Blanchard of Pelham, GA, Austin Blanchard of Pelham, GA, Dustin Blanchard of Thomasville, GA; step grandchildren, Stephanie Edwards of Cairo, GA, Anthony Lee of North Carolina, Issac Lee of Cairo, GA, Lindsey Lee of Jessup, GA, Jesse Lee of Griffin, GA, Cameron Lee of Mississippi; a host of great-grandchildren; siblings, Randy Merritt (Sylvia) of Cairo, GA, Shirley Smith of Cairo, GA, Helen Chancey of Thomasville, GA, Lynn Hale (Todd) of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; sons, Jessie Blanchard, Andy Blanchard, William Blanchard; stepchildren, Rhonda Lee Edwards, Carey Lee; siblings, Martha Johnson, Inez Merritt, Janice McKown, Steve Merritt, Rita Merritt, James Merritt, Phillip Merritt, Gene Merritt and Margie Brownlow.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
