Glinda Barrett Nichols

Funeral services for Glinda Barrett Nichols, 79, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 7, 2022, at the Ochlocknee Baptist Church, Ochlocknee, GA.  Pastor Mike Nichols will officiate.  Services will conclude at the church.  Private interment will be in Pleasant Grove Community Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Mrs. Nichols passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Monday, April 4, 2022.

Mrs. Nichols was born on January 1, 1943, in Cairo, GA, to the late Alvie Barrett and Mary Fain Barrett.  On August 28, 1959, she married Henry Donald “Don” Nichols, who preceded her in death on March 6, 2014.  She retired from Coats and Clark, Inc. and was a member of Ochlocknee Baptist Church, Ochlocknee, GA.

Survivors include: her son, Mike Nichols (Laura) of Thomasville, GA; daughters, Jennifer Turner of Cairo, GA, Vonda Kay Nowell of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Michelle Godwin (Matthew) of Cairo, GA, Rebecca Powe (Wesley) of Whigham, GA, Levi Sutton (Dixie) of Whigham, GA, Matthew Sutton of Cairo, GA, Stephanie Marie Nowell of Thomasville, GA, Nicholas Nowell (Kelsie) of Cairo, GA, Blake Nowell of Cairo, GA, Brooke Nowell (Adam) of Cairo, GA, Kayse Nowell of Cairo, GA; and a host of great-grandchildren; brother, Carlos Barrett of Havana, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; brother, Rev. Ronald Barrett, Neil Barrett; and sisters, Frances Prince, Betty Carter.
