Helen Barrett Lelle Cunningham
August 3, 1931 – January 21, 2022

Funeral services for Helen Barrett Lelle Cunningham, 90, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at El Bethel Baptist Church, Whigham, GA.  Rev. Bob Knight will officiate.  Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Mrs. Cunningham passed away at Magnolia Place Senior Living of Cairo, GA on Friday, January 21, 2022.

Active pallbearers will be Tommy Lelle, Chris Lelle, Blake Anderson, Jackson Lelle, Shawn Lelle, Jeremy Lelle and Hal Lelle.

Mrs. Cunningham was born on August 3, 1931, in Reno, GA, to the late Howard Benjamin Barrett and Alma Carrie Cassels.  In May of 2001, she married Hugh P. Cunningham, Jr., who survives.  She was a registered nurse and retired from Grady General Hospital in Cairo.  She was a member of the El Bethel Baptist Church in Whigham.

Survivors include: her husband, Hugh Preston Cunningham, Jr. of Cairo, GA; her children, Hal Lelle of Titusville, FL, Steve Lelle (Donna) of Cairo, GA, Teresa Anderson (Robbie) of Cairo, GA; stepchildren, Howard Cunningham (Kathy) of Leeds, AL, Jo Adams (Jim) of Brandon, MS, Johnny Cunningham of Leeds, AL; grandchildren, Tommy Lelle (Erin) of Titusville, FL, Michelle Lelle of Maui, HI, Chris Lelle (Brande) Bethlehem, GA, Shawn Lelle (Ashley) of Saratoga Springs, UT, Jeremy Lelle of Saratoga Springs, UT, Blake Anderson (Melanie) of Cairo, GA; host of great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Frank F. Lelle; daughter-in-law, Pam Lelle; brothers, Howard Benjamin Barrett, Jr., Jewell Thomas Barrett; and sisters, Onieda B. Trammel, Bernice B. Brantley, Vandy B. Dollar, Doris B. Billings.
