Funeral services for Henry Ocelyn Andrews, 85, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 3, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Christy Bandy will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Andrews passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Monday, May 30, 2022.
Active pallbearers will be Mark Yarborough, Keith Yarborough, Donald Brinson, Ken Bond, Ralph Daughtry and Hubert de Sercey.
Mr. Andrews was born on September 30, 1936, in Cairo, GA, to the late William Henry Andrews, Jr. and Bessie Laura Thomas. He served his country in the United States Army. Henry worked his way up to Transportation Manager at the W. B. Roddenbery Company. He retired after 46 years of service to the company. He was a member of the Cairo First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men’s Assoc., President of Grady County Saddle Club, President of Deep Dixie Assoc., President of the Georgia Federation of Saddle Clubs, Kiwanis, and a member of GA High School Football Referee Assoc. until he retired at the age of 77. Henry’s favorite hobbies included being a referee for various football associations, gardening, taking care of his horses and mule, and barrel racing at horse shows.
Survivors include: his son, Tim Andrews (Sherri) of Cairo, GA; son-in-law, Moufdi Louah of Alpharetta, GA; step-daughter, Lisa Little (Rob) of Canton, GA; grandchildren, Ryan Andrews of Cairo, GA, Chad Andrews (Tori) of Tallahassee, FL, Alison Little of Woodstock, GA, Michelle Little of Woodstock, GA, Matthew Little (Jessica) of Canton, GA; great-grandchildren, Graylyn Andrews of Tallahassee, FL, Beckett Andrews of Tallahassee, FL, Lucas Little of Canton, GA; sister, Henrietta Bond (Roger) of Cairo, GA; step-brother, Stephen Andrews of Daytona, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his first wife and mother of his children, Gloria Brinson Andrews; his second wife, Annette Chason Andrews; daughter, Teri Andrews Louah; brother, J.C. Andrews; and sisters, Bonnie Waters, Philistine Williams, Lillian Smith, Betty Yarborough.
Memorials may be made in Mr. Andrews’ memory to the Cairo First United Methodist Church, 318 South Broad Street, Cairo, GA 39828.
