Iris Dollar Harrison
December 8, 1926 – October 27, 2020

Graveside funeral services for Iris Rebecca Dollar Harrison, 93, of Cairo, GA, are on Friday, October 30, 2020, in Pine Level Baptist Church Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Jim Weaver will officiate.  Mrs. Harrison passed away at her home on Tuesday, October 27, 2020.

Active pallbearers will be Jim West, Coleman Harrison, Peyton Tyler Harrison, Jeremy Huskey, Cade West and Morgan Garcia.

Mrs. Harrison was born on December 8, 1926, in Cairo, GA, to the late John Jefferson Dollar and Myrtie Bryant Dollar.  On April 5, 1947, she married Howard “Pete” Harrison, who preceded her in death on May 25, 2008.  They were married for 61 years.  She was a homemaker and a farmer.  Iris was a member of Pine Level Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years and was active in the WMU.  She helped to set up the church cemetery fund.  She was known for her good cooking and hard work.  Iris was a loving grandma and great-grandma.

Survivors include: daughters, Barbara Garcia (Denmark) of Whigham, GA, Betty Huskey (Don) of Wetumpka, AL; son, John Harrison (Jenny Ratts) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Jim West (Windi), Coleman Harrison (Jennifer), Peyton Tyler Harrison, all of Cairo, GA, Jeremy Huskey (Mincie) of Whigham, GA, Kelly Huskey Rollo (Pat) of Phenix City, AL, Morgan Garcia (Deann) of Thomasville, GA; great-grandchildren, Kelsey West, Cade West, Jack Howard Harrison, Jenna Claire Harrison, all of Cairo, GA, Riley King of Whigham, GA, John Pat Rollo of Phenix City, AL; brother-in-law, James Harrison of Whigham, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; and sisters, Inez Dollar Godwin, Eurice Lee Dollar Harrison.
