Funeral services for Irma Lee Roland Jones, 93, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 10, 2017, at Pine Park Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Steve Wooten will officiate. Interment will be in Pine Park Baptist Church Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Jones passed away at her home in Cairo, GA, on Monday morning, February 6, 2017.
Mrs. Jones was born on July 26, 1923, in Cairo, GA, to the late Jesse Walter Roland and Fannie Mashburn Roland. On May 20, 1945, she married James Duffie Jones, who preceded her in death on January 20, 2017. She worked with the Shoe Box in Thomasville for many years. She was a longtime member of Pine Park Baptist Church. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include: daughter, Mary Jones Winter (William) of Cairo, GA; son-in-law, Ivan Roland of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Cassandra Hall Snodgrass of Cairo, GA, Anthony Biggie (Dawn) of Raleigh, NC, James Winter (Kelley) of Monroe, NC, Donnie Roland of Milledgeville, GA; great-grandchildren, Harley Biggie of Little Rock, AR, Joseph Smith of Raleigh, NC, Chase Winter and Riley Winter, both of Monroe, NC, Kali and Ashton Roland, both of Milledgeville, GA; sisters, Audrey Hanson of Whigham, GA, Doris Stephens of Havana, FL; and a brother, J. W. Roland of Cairo, GA.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; daughter, Kathie Jo Roland; son, Donnie Jones; sisters, Elma Merritt, Lorraine Wood, Virginia Myers; and a brother, Earnest Roland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Jones’ memory to: Pine Park Baptist Church, 3783 Pine Park Road, Cairo, GA 39828; or Kindred Hospice (formerly Gentiva), 432 E. Shotwell Street, Bainbridge, GA 39819.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Thursday, February 9, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
