Jack T. Chastain, Jr., 79, of Whigham, GA, passed away at Grady General Hospital, Cairo, GA, on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

Mr. Chastain was born on November 4, 1945, in Thomasville, GA, to the late Jack Thomas Chastain, Sr. and Barbara Augusta Purcell Chastain. He served in the US Army and was a photographer for many years.

Survivors include his children, Amie Elizabeth Prevost and Amanda Lavelle Chastain; grandchildren, Karlie Johnson, Kasey Johnson and Kellie Johnson; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Diane Chastain Moore and Karen Chastain White; brother, Richard Glenn Chastain; as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice Barfield Chastain; sister, Gloria Chastain White; and nephew, Corey Sumner.
