James Monroe Thomas

Graveside memorial services for James Monroe Thomas, 87, of Williamstown, NJ, are at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 23, 2018, in the Tired Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Whigham, GA. Rev. Robert Crapps will officiate and Military Honors will be presented by American Legion Post 122. Mr. Thomas passed away in Atlantic County, NJ, on Wednesday, March 28, 2018.
Mr. Thomas was born on February 23, 1931, in Havana, FL, to the late Carl Luther Thomas and Estell Lowe Thomas. He served his country in the United States Army. Until his retirement he worked with Ralph Hammett as a truck driver. He was a member of the Capel Baptist Church in Cairo.
Survivors include: his daughters, Connie Sue Burnette of Buena Vista, GA, Cathy Jean Clay of Williamstown, NJ, Patricia Ann McMillan of Brinson, GA; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby Thomas (Nettie) of Havana, FL; sister-in-law, Betty Thomas of Calvary, GA; and a host of extended family.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter, Mona Thomas Boemker; sisters, Pauline Johnson, Iris Bell; and a brother, Otis Thomas.
